I started writing on Medium when my blog went down, and at first, I wasn’t serious about making money on Medium, but recently, some of my posts got popular for various reasons, so I figured why not share them with everyone.

Okay, guys Sorry, I mean I am really sorry because I didn’t make a single penny from the medium I was just checking something which I recently found on medium.

So, if you’re still interested in learning why I made this clickbait, continue reading. However, if my clickbait has left you disappointed, I sincerely apologise.

Recently I discovered something weird on Medium. I have two accounts on Medium, and both have different preferences in the medium interest setting.

Recently I have observed that 70% to 80% of articles on my list are just about Medium.com, like most of them are simply about making money on Medium or getting more reads on your article.

Previously I assumed it might just be to encourage authors because I have some articles on Medium which means I am also a writer for Medium.com, But then I thought, why not try a different account? The results were the same.

At this point, I believe it to be a scam (I’m not sure if scam is the right word to use here). In the early days of Medium, I was able to read noteworthy articles thanks to recommendations, but as of recently, I’ve observed that the majority of articles I’ve lately read on both of my accounts have been exclusively focused on making money on Medium.

I won’t lie to you, but I don’t use Medium to make money and I won’t be allowed to do so either because I don’t meet the requirements for the territory rule on Medium.

The problem is that Medium has tricked me multiple times into reading particular articles that will force me to keep writing on Medium FOR A GOAL JUST TO EARN MONEY.

I’m fine with writing on Medium, even if the majority of the money I’ve made as a writer has come from writing tech articles for some corporate websites.

The primary issue, in my opinion, is that Medium is misleading people into thinking that the MAJORITY of people (authors) are earning well on Medium.

You won’t find recommended articles like “How Writing at Medium Taught Me Things” or “Struggles to be a Writer on Medium.com”, etc.

I still believe that Medium is excellent platform for both writers and readers, although medium is tricking people to see only the lavish side of Medium.com.

Moreover, I just write on medium because I like writing on a medium it is like a hobby for me, but I am still a little bit greedy person so I think if in future rules changes and if I become eligible then “how would I make money?” and just for sake of that I click on the stories and read it.

Although people have really earned money on medium.com & I am kind of happy for these people who got paid for their hard work, but still there is too much self-promotion on medium.

I believe that rather than on the medium itself, this promotion should be on other platforms.

That’s what I believe and I just wanted to see if my clickbait could draw readers based on medium recommendations or not.
